A Farewell and a Welcome – ‘Shalom’
The Central Methodist Church, Launceston wished a fond farewell to the Revd Tony Cox and his wife Elaine on Tony’s retirement as Circuit Supervisor at a special dinner on Saturday 31st July 2010 at Central Methodist Church.
Tony’s last service at Central was on the following day, Sunday 1st August, when all the Launceston Circuit joined together. After the service the church shared in a picnic lunch.
Tony and Elaine are retiring after thirty-five years in full time ordained ministry, having previously worked in lay ministry for five years in Africa. For the last five years Tony has been the Supervisor and Elaine has been a local preacher in the Launceston Circuit where they have both made a real impact on the local community. When Tony and Elaine are around, with their ever present wit, smiles and good humour, you are always left feeling encouraged and supported as we walk and live the Christian life.
We wish them both every possible blessing for their retirement and Christian journey in Taunton.
