Please look around the web pages, of course, but I hope you will also get the chance to meet some of our 700 members and worship with us in one of our 17 Chapels too.

You can find us between the Devon Border and the edge of Bodmin Moor, so farming affects most of our livelihoods.

You will see that some of our rural congregations number less than a dozen, while Central in Launceston has over 250 members and a healthy number of children too. I feel that this kind of variety is healthy and it allows our various strengths to be used well in the Lord's name.

We value the faith and commitment of previous generations, on whose work we seek to build and we hope and pray that our own vision for the mission of Jesus will break new bounds in it's turn.

When John Wesley used to visit the cottage at Trewint, he was being bold for Jesus Christ and we want to follow his lead in our own time and place.

Holiday Clubs in August

Three Holiday Clubs took place in the Launceston Area Circuit during the Summer of 2011...

Holiday Club at Lifton Methodist Church
During the first week of August, 36 children enjoyed a fun filled week at Lifton Methodist Church's annual holiday club – this year it was called “Pyramid Rock”. Read the report with the group photo or watch a video here.

Holiday Club 2011 at Coads Green Methodist Church

This year the annual children's Holiday Club at Coads Green Methodist Church was called 'Mission Rescue' and took place from 15th-19th August. The week culminated with a service of celebration on the following Sunday. At the service parents and children were able to join in with some of the activities and view all the craft work.

During the 'Mission Rescue' week the children enjoyed fun, games, craft activities and Bible study where they learnt about God's plan and work through Moses in rescuing the people of Israel from slavery in Egypt.

The Coads Green holiday club team was led by Mrs Margaret Ridley and from the wide grins on everyone’s faces it was clear that it had been a great week.

During the 'Mission Rescue' week more that 50 children came along each day and enjoyed fun, games, craft activities and Bible study where they learnt about God's plan and work through Moses in rescuing the people of Israel from slavery in Egypt. The holiday club team was led by Central’s Children & Families worker, Marguerite Smith, and from the wide grins on everyone’s faces it was clear that it had been a great week – both for the helpers and the children.

Spotlight Magazine
