Farewell Rev Malcolm and Jude

Dear Friends,
As we are about to leave the Circuit over the Summer, it is time to express our thanks to all those who have made Jude and I welcome here along with our family and supported us in all that God has led us into and that we have sought to achieve alongside you all.

Thanks too for the recent opportunity of a Sabbatical which has enabled me much needed time to take stock and prepare to move on.

As I look back on 10 years here it is amazing to reflect on how things have changed. I think many of our churches are in good heart, and it has been great to see the refurbishments at Yeolmbridge and Pipers Pool in the last few years. The greater cooperation with Ecumenical colleagues has meant a bigger impact in local areas and through the Foodbank, Money Advice and Street Pastors. Memories of events such as Barbeques around the Circuit and on Widemouth beach, treasure hunts and Safari suppers to name just a few. Various hilarious games at Holiday Club and Shift won’t be forgotten in a hurry either!

It has also been tremendous to see the Bridge Church be born and grow into a vibrant worship centre, with many new outreach ventures into the community. The Skate Park which became the Community Centre was also of great benefit to young families throughout the area, and it was great to see so many hundreds of people passing through on a weekly basis, extending the reach of our mission into new peoples’ lives from the community.

We look forward to new horizons, who knows what this new post-covid world will look like, but we know that the Lord has kept His hand upon us and we are excited as to where He is leading us. ‘May the Lord bless you and keep you’, as the priestly blessing from Numbers Chapter 6 suggests.

I am now preparing to take my leave, as you will also be preparing to welcome Revd. David Miller and Liz. Life continues to move on.
Every Blessing for the future,
